Daniel Kim, CPA - Managing Partner
Daniel Kim is the founder and managing partner of Chevron & Rockers, a CPA firm established in 2016 that specializes in accounting services for government contractors and grant recipients. Before founding Chevron & Rockers, Daniel Kim worked at the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) for nine years, where he held several important roles including Supervisory Auditor, Business Systems Technical Specialist, Proposal Audit Technical Specialist, and Incurred Cost Submission Audit Technical Specialist.
During his tenure at the DCAA, Daniel gained extensive experience in various auditing and compliance roles. As a Supervisory Auditor, he led audit teams and managed assignments at DCAA’s Resident and Suboffice locations, including those at major defense contractors like Northrup Grumman Baltimore Resident Office, L3Harris Technologies, Honeywell, CACI Inc., and ManTech. He covered extensive geographic regions including Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia.
In his role as a Business Systems Technical Specialist, Daniel developed specialized knowledge in compliance requirements for several critical business systems such as Accounting Systems, Earned Value Management Systems, Estimating Systems, Material Management and Accounting Systems, Property Management Systems, and Purchasing Systems. He acted as a subject matter expert and oversaw DCAA’s audits of these systems, ensuring they met rigorous federal standards.
Additionally, as the DCAA Supervisory Auditor for the team serving the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), he managed audits of various USAID contractors and grant recipients, further deepening his expertise in government contracting and regulatory compliance.
Daniel is also a U.S. Army veteran, having served six years on active duty as a Mental Health Specialist, which adds a unique dimension to his background in both leadership and specialized service. His military service, combined with his extensive professional experience in government auditing, equips him with a robust set of skills and insights, making him a significant asset in the field of accounting for government contracting.
